Mother of Late Bawumia’s Aide Speaks out

Georgina Amankwa (nee Baffoe), the mother of the late Kwabena Boadu, former aide to Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has accused him of being a liar and failing to fulfill a promise of compensation made to her family.
Following the mysterious death of her son in 2016 while on a campaign trail with Dr. Bawumia, Madam Amankwa has expressed her disappointment in the Vice President’s failure to honor his pledge. Despite assurances of compensation due to Kwabena’s death in the line of duty, the family has yet to receive any form of reparation, leaving the mother feeling deceived and betrayed.
In a recent interview, she recounted how Dr. Bawumia had approached the family expressing his intentions to compensate them for their loss. However, despite initial discussions, the promise remained unfulfilled, causing further anguish to the grieving family.
Reflecting on the support her son had provided to Dr. Bawumia, Madam Amankwa emphasized the dedicated service Kwabena had rendered, noting his commitment and loyalty to his role as a press secretary and special aide.
With the pain of her son’s untimely death still fresh, she implored the opposition party, New Patriotic Party (NPP), to reconsider presenting Dr. Bawumia as a presidential candidate in future elections, citing his unfulfilled promises and lack of integrity as reasons for her disapproval.
As the family awaits closure on the circumstances surrounding Kwabena’s death and the promised compensation, Madam Amankwa’s outspoken criticism serves as a poignant reminder of the unresolved grievances they continue to endure.
