Parliament to Reconvene on May 27

Parliament, will officially resume sittings on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, following an announcement by the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin.

The announcement was contained in a statement dated May 12, 2025, and signed by the Speaker himself.

The statement cited Order 58 of the Standing Orders of Parliament, which empowers the Speaker to summon the House.

“Pursuant to Order 58 of the Standing Orders of the Parliament of Ghana, I, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, hereby give notice that the second meeting of the first session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic shall commence on Tuesday, the 27th day of May, 2025, at 10:00 in the forenoon at Parliament House, Accra,” the statement read.

Members of Parliament, are expected to return to the chamber for legislative business, including the consideration of bills, motions, and other parliamentary duties.
