Raheem Sterling Gets Baptized After Completing Arsenal Move
Arsenal loanee Raheem Sterling has committed his life to Christ after getting baptized
Arsenal loanee Raheem Sterling has committed his life to Christ after getting baptized on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
In a video shared by GhanaWeb, the England forward testified in church after going through the process of baptism.
In his statement, Sterling mentioned that he is seeking cleansing in the Lord because he has lived his way and picked up undesirable habits in an attempt to lift his family out of a distressful situation.
“The reason why I want to be baptized is that, from a young age, maybe as young as my sons there, I have always had a dream to get my mum and my family out of a certain predicament and I always chased that dream. But along the line, you are creating habits and ego,” Sterling told the congregation.
“I am chasing what I believe I wanted, which is really who I really wanted growing up. So, I could sense that as I was growing up, and maturing, I could see I was chasing my ego, chasing what is really not for me. I was going to different environments, going to certain places, and I came to a realization that I don’t believe this is my life or who I truly am,” he added.
Raheem Sterling joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea during the summer transfer window and is set to begin a new challenge.
He is expected to make his debut for the Gunners in the North London derby against Tottenham on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
