As ’10 Sins of Ken Agyapong’
A leading flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, has hit back at critics who call him out for not being hard on the John Mahama government.
In the view of the businessman and politician he cannot turn the heat on the government because it is not yet time to do so.
He said President Mahama and his government need time to work instead of just criticizing him them for the sake of it.
Ken Agyapong who is seeking to lead the NPP for the second time after his first attempt failed in 2023 said this in an in-studio interview recently.
He indicated that, the second reason he has been hesitant to criticize the government is because he does not want it to be used against him in future.
The former MP said in the past when he went on that path and heavily criticized the government of the day, it was used against him.
The former Assin Central constituency Member of Parliament (MP) said he will no longer do what he used to do so that internally, the party will lists them as “10 sins of Ken Agyapong”.
While stressing that he is not asking that the government should not be criticized if things are not going well, he maintained that he wants to use his time to concentrate on his campaign to be presidential aspirant of the NPP.
“I have heard and when I watch the media they say I am not attacking Mahama. They went to say at Salaga North and South that I am not I am not attacking Mahama because government owes me so I am waiting to be paid. Ten (10) months in government what do you expect Mahama to do that you want me to criticize him? Well, to be fair if even if you planted cassava would it have grown to cultivate? So, we should allow. I am not also saying that if something is amiss we should not speak but I am focusing on my primary.
But again, when they say that it means they miss Kennedy Agyapong and they shot themselves in the foot that all that all the defense I gave the NPP they say they are 10 sins of Ken Agyapong today you want a man to criticize to Mahama. I should criticize him so that it will be 11 sins of Ken Agyapong. Has there been 11th Commandment after the 10 commandments of the Bible”, he said on Spear FM.
