At a press soiree, held on Monday, January 12, in Ho, to render account of his stewardship to his constituents, the MP reiterated his commitment to advancing shared growth and prosperity for the people, emphasizing that his approach as a legislator was transparent, evidence- based and responsive to the voices of those he served, while outlining his journey, challenges and ambitions for the years ahead.
Reflecting on his journey as a first time legislator, the MP said the transition from campaigning to parliamentary business and committee work, presented a steep learning curve, acknowledging that “real work happens in committees and private consultations, not just chamber debates.”
The Ho central legislator stressed the importance of building relationships across the isle.
For him, the biggest lesson was putting the constituency first, “as performance in Accra is judged by it’s impact on the constituency.”
On achievements, Hon. Kpotosu cited interventions in health, education, youth entrepreneurship, agriculture and water and sanitation as key areas that received focused attention within his first year.
He acknowledged challenges, but observed that the unwavering support and constructive criticism from constituents have been his motivation and guidance
throughout the period.
Hon. Edem Richmond Kofi Kpotosu concluded by pledging continuous accountability, unity and collaboration while inviting suggestions and feedback to deepen democratic and civil engagement.
As he begins his second year in office, it is the hope of many residents in the constituency that their MP will continue the good work by lobbying central government to fast track the extension of development projects to the Ho central constituency, which is one of the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s strongholds in the Volta region.
