The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion Paints Manufacturing Industries Limited (DOPMILL), Mr. Stephen Adom, has appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to rescue his soul and that of his family from the hands of what he described as ‘cooperate greed, alleged judicial manipulation and police complicity.’
He made a renewed public request for help regarding a long-standing conflict over the control of his paint manufacturing company, DOPAMIL, which he claims was taken over under questionable circumstances.
At a press conference, held in Accra on April 22, 2026, Mr. Adom repeated accusations that his company was subjected to a planned takeover involving Quick Angels Limited, Fidelity Bank, and certain security and legal actions, following the collapse of a previous investment partnership.
He stated that DOPAMIL entered a joint venture with Quick Angels Limited to increase production capacity. However, he asserts that the partnership later soured into a dispute over ownership and control, leading to legal action filed at the Ho High Court in December 2021.
He mentioned that the court later issued an interlocutory injunction, but claims that soon after the ruling, individuals associated with Quick Angels Limited, along with police officers, took physical control of the factory. Mr. Adom also stated that he and his employees were denied access, and operations at the site were stopped.
Mr. Adom expressed concerns about financial dealings with Fidelity Bank, alleging that company accounts were tampered with and that certain withdrawals were made without proper authorization. He claims these records were later used in court proceedings.
He also questioned the fairness of contempt proceedings that resulted in his conviction in December 2023, arguing that crucial evidence in his favor was not properly considered. He is challenging delays in the main case, which he says have left the business effectively under the control of his former partners.
Outside of court, Mr. Adom claims that complaints he filed with the police regarding the takeover and subsequent events, including a fire at the factory in February 2026, have not been adequately addressed.
He is now calling for an independent investigation into the entire dispute, a review of court decisions related to the case, and the restoration of his control over DOPAMIL, along with compensation for losses he claims to have suffered.
While the allegations remain unproven in court, the case continues to highlight tensions surrounding corporate partnerships and dispute resolution within Ghana’s business environment.
