The Dormaa East District Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Hon. Alan Afi Isaac, has announced the disbursement of three months’ outstanding allowances to YEA service recruits serving in Community Police, Fire, and Ambulance Assistance units, in a move aimed at reinvigorating their commitment and diligence.
Addressing the recruits, Hon. Afi Isaac acknowledged that prolonged delays in allowance payments had dampened morale and participation across the district. “The timely settlement of these arrears is intended to restore confidence and rekindle a renewed sense of purpose among our recruits as they support critical public institutions,” he stated.
He further conveyed a firm directive from the YEA Chief Executive Officer, warning that “no recruit who fails to report punctually within the stipulated period of the reviewed month will be validated for payment.”
He urged all personnel to uphold discipline and consistency, assuring them that the Agency is actively instituting sustainable measures to eliminate future payment delays and strengthen motivation in service to national development.
Hon. Afi Isaac also clarified the terms of engagement, noting that the contractual agreement between YEA and its recruits across all service modules spans two years and is subject to either renewal or termination.
“Whether serving as Police Assistants, Firefighters, or Ambulance Aides, every recruit must demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, and dedication to be considered for contract renewal at the end of their term,” he emphasized. “A lackadaisical approach to duty will not be tolerated, and such conduct will disqualify individuals from continued engagement once their contract expires.”
The District Director expressed satisfaction with the immediate improvement in punctuality and attendance following the allowance payment, commending the recruits for their responsiveness and renewed commitment to duty.
