The Ghana Police Service has apprehended three additional suspects in connection with the murder of Sain Devendra Kumar, an Indian national found dead on April 26, 2026, with multiple stab wounds in the trunk of his vehicle, abandoned at the outskirts of Sabin Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region.
After intensive intelligence operations in Kumasi on April 29 and 30, 2026, our teams successfully arrested three suspects: Osman Moro alias Thiago, age 20; suspect Akum Kojo; Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa; and John Adoko alias Carter.
These arrests bring the total number of persons in custody related to this case to four.
Suspect Akum Kojo Junior confessed to the murder and revealed that on April 24, 2026, he visited the deceased’s workplace, where he, with suspect Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa, disconnected and replaced the CCTV camera server.
He then concealed the CCTV equipment at Daban New Site in Kumasi. Kojo Junior led police to the location, where the server was recovered.
He also disclosed that he had taken possession of the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and Tecno mobile phones, later giving the iPhone to suspect Osman Moro alias Thiago at Kaase, and the Tecno phone to Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa.
Acting on intelligence, police officers traced and arrested suspect Osman Moro alias Thiago, aged 20, at Kaase in Kumasi. He led officers to a bush where the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max, wrapped in a brown envelope and fresh leaves, was buried in a hole he had dug.
Further investigations in Aprabong near Dompoase led to the arrest of Moro Sule alias Moro Aboboyaa, who possessed the Tecno mobile phone.
Kojo Junior identified Moro Sule as the individual who assisted him in replacing the CCTV server.Suspect John Adoko alias Carter admitted to driving the deceased’s vehicle to the location where it was abandoned.
The exhibits, including the CCTV server, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and Tecno mobile phone, have been secured as evidence. Authorities are actively pursuing suspects Zuzu Adrama (the killer) and Vipul Jetpur Vijay (Taruu), who are linked to the case.
In a related development, the police have arrested one individual in connection with the armed attack on a VIP passenger bus on May 2, 2026, along the Nasia Bridge on the Bolgatanga-Tamale highway, which resulted in two deaths.
The suspect, Jamal Bature Mumuni, aged 38, was detained on May 6, 2026. He and his gang are connected to multiple attacks across the Upper East and North East Regions.
The suspect is currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining members of the gang who remain at large.
