In a significant move aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity and enhancing food security, Sesi-Edem Co. Ltd of Ghana and its United States subsidiary, Sesi-Edem LLC USA, have announced a strategic partnership with Catalyst Green LLC, a leading American company specialising in advanced biological agricultural solutions.
The collaboration is aimed at improving soil health, strengthening root development, enhancing nutrient availability, and supporting healthier crop growth across Ghana’s agricultural sector.
The partnership forms part of efforts to promote sustainable farming practices and increase agricultural productivity through the adoption of innovative technologies.

Speaking on the development, businessman and philanthropist Dr Gabriel Tanko Adovoe Kwamigah-Atokple, who led discussions on behalf of Sesi-Edem and serves as the Volta Regional representative on the Council of State, underscored the importance of innovation in the future of agriculture.
“Agriculture remains the backbone of many countries and communities, and at Sesi-Edem we believe the future of farming must be driven by innovation, technology and sustainable solutions,” he said.
Dr Kwamigah-Atokple noted that the partnership would focus on supporting Ghanaian farmers by providing access to modern agricultural technologies capable of improving yields while restoring and preserving soil quality
“Our focus is on the Ghanaian farmer, providing access to modern agricultural technologies that improve productivity, restore soil health and build more resilient farming systems,” he stated.
Beyond enhancing agricultural output, the partnership is expected to create economic value, support skills development and contribute to employment generation within the agricultural sector.

Dr Kwamigah-Atokple expressed appreciation to his business partner and Board Chairman of the Sesi-Edem Group, Dr Brian K. Johnson, whose long-standing relationship and shared vision helped facilitate the collaboration.
“I am grateful to my partner and Board Chair of Sesi-Edem Group, Dr Brian K. Johnson, whose decade-long relationship and shared vision have helped make this collaboration possible,” he said.
He further expressed confidence that the partnership would contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s agricultural transformation agenda.
“I am firm in my belief that together we can build a smarter, more sustainable future for agriculture in Ghana through private partnerships that complement the government’s commitment to agricultural transformation. Our contribution, though small, will help create a meaningful impact for the Ghanaian farmer,” he added.
The partnership comes at a time when stakeholders within Ghana’s agricultural sector are increasingly seeking innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions to improve productivity, strengthen food security and enhance farmers’ resilience to changing climatic conditions.
