The Municipal Chief Executive of Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Hon. Selorm Fumey, has officially launched the construction of the 24-Hour Economy Market in the municipality, calling it a significant move towards realizing the government’s 24-hour economy initiative.
During the sod-cutting event, Hon. Fumey highlighted that the market is being built as a complete business center aimed at promoting continuous commercial activities and fostering economic development in the area.
He noted that this project is more than just a typical market. It will feature a police station, a banking center, a clinic, and other vital facilities to assist traders and ensure businesses can operate smoothly at all hours.
“This market will be the hub for business under the 24-hour economy. With productivity rising through a three-shift system, businesses will have a secure and well-equipped environment to function around the clock, ultimately enhancing trade and economic activities in the municipality,” stated Hon. Fumey.
The MCE mentioned that the government’s 24-hour economy policy aims to implement a three-shift working system that will boost productivity in various industries. He added that the creation of dedicated 24-hour economy markets will offer the perfect setting for businesses to flourish under this policy.
Hon. Fumey is confident that this project will generate job opportunities, enhance trading conditions, and promote local economic growth, positioning Nsawam-Adoagyiri as a vital commercial center in the Eastern Region.
Traditional Leaders Support the Initiative
The Okuapeman Adontehene, Otoobour Djan Kwasi II, who was present at the ceremony, expressed his support for the initiative after learning about the project’s details.
He called the development timely and expressed hope that the market would significantly benefit traders, especially market women in the municipality.
The Adontehene praised the government for this initiative and expressed optimism that the project will enhance livelihoods and promote sustainable economic growth in the region.
Construction on the 24-Hour Economy Market is set to begin right away, with local authorities promising to complete the facility to high standards and ensure it is ready to support businesses operating around the clock.
