Nana Yaw Kyere, alias Dinero, the popular Circle phone dealer also known as Terry, who was recently reported missing, has been found dead at Teshie.
A relative, who spoke to the media, confirmed the incident, saying the body was discovered on the morning of September 24. According to the relative, the perpetrators attempted to burn the body but were unsuccessful.
The body has since been deposited at the morgue as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding his death.
Suspects Arrested, Car Recovered
Earlier reports indicated that at least three suspects have been apprehended by the police, and the deceased’s car has also been recovered.
A WhatsApp conversation between Dinero and a close friend, which has since surfaced, revealed that he had travelled to Teshie to meet a lady who had been trying to meet him. In the chat, he texted his friend that he had been set up and shared his live location — a message that was later deleted.
Relative Exposes Alleged Scheme
Speaking to journalists, the relative explained that the said lady had, for a while, feigned interest in being friends with the dealer — a tactic he claims is part of a wider pattern.
According to him, women often target people who deal in expensive goods, establish friendships with them, and pretend to have romantic interest for weeks or even months.
They then invite the victims to visit them, and once the victims fall for the trap, they are robbed of their belongings — and in many cases, do not make it out alive.
“If Dinero had not told his friend, no one would have known he had gone to Teshie,” the relative said.
He further alleged that a man who pretends to be a soldier enters the room while the victim is inside, though he declined to give full details, promising to share more in a subsequent post.
Police Yet to Comment
Why anyone would do this to the young man remains a mystery as the public awaits an official statement from the Ghana Police Service.
The incident has left family, friends and loved ones devastated, with many calling for the perpetrators to be swiftly brought to justice.
