The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has paid a visit to model and actress Rosemond Nana Akua Addo, following the circulation of a video showing her being assaulted by her husband, Harold Norman.
The disturbing footage, which surfaced on social media, also captured the couple’s teenage daughter being assaulted by her father.
The Minister’s visit comes after she earlier confirmed that her attention had been drawn to the domestic violence footage and that authorities were already taking steps to protect the actress.

Details of the visit remain largely undisclosed, with only images of the Minister and the international model, alongside officials and family members, released to the public.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service says investigations into the matter are ongoing, and the suspect is expected to appear before court once he is discharged from hospital.
According to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), it received a petition from Nana Akua on August 20, in which she alleged that her husband had subjected her to physical, emotional and economic abuse.
The police disclosed that the couple had previously been involved in a case handled by the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at the Lakeside and Ministries Police Stations in July.

Following the latest petition, Norman was arrested at his residence on August 27 to assist with investigations. He was said to have provided a caution statement before being granted enquiry bail with two sureties on August 29.
Although he was scheduled to appear before court, his lawyer informed the police that he had been admitted to hospital and was unable to attend the proceedings.
DOVVSU investigators have since visited the hospital to verify the reported admission, the CID stated.

The police assured that they are monitoring the situation and will ensure Norman is brought before the court once discharged.
The CID further revealed that it is collaborating with the Gender Ministry to facilitate social welfare support for Nana Akua and her children.
The police statement follows the widespread circulation of the video, which has sparked renewed public attention and concern over the case.
Reiterating its commitment, the CID said it remains dedicated to protecting victims of domestic violence and ensuring that complaints brought before the service are investigated professionally and fairly.
