TikTok Bombers Get Red Carpet

Dr. Bawumiah Welcome Activist Who Threatened to Kill Mahama and Behead Lordina.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, in a bold move to stand by his supporters, extended a warm reception to Prince Ofori, also known as Fante Comedy, a vocal activist of the NPP. Comedy had recently been taken into custody by the police for making alarming statements directed at the First Family.
The former Vice President’s decision to publicly embrace Comedy has raised eyebrows and drawn criticism from onlookers, who have labeled it a serious misstep in his political strategy. Comedy had been arrested alongside NPP Women Organizer Yayra Abiwu and others for issuing threats against President John Dramani Mahama and his wife, Lady Lordina Mahama on social media.
Despite debates over Comedy’s direct involvement in the threats, critics argue that by allowing such comments to persist on his platform without intervention, he bears responsibility for the consequences. The incident has sparked discussions on the legal ramifications of issuing death threats, with some referring to relevant sections of the Criminal and Other Offences Act.
Following his release from custody, Comedy received an enthusiastic welcome from Dr Bawumia, with the two seen sharing warm gestures and laughter in a viral video. This display of camaraderie has sparked outrage among Ghanaians, who view it as an implicit endorsement of Comedy’s actions.
Critics have pointed out what they perceive as inconsistency in Dr Bawumia’s actions, noting his prior expressions of sympathy following a tragic helicopter crash and his attendance at related events. Some believe these gestures to be insincere, contrasting them with the seemingly jovial interaction with Comedy.
The incident has drawn attention to the complex dynamics within the NPP, with differing views on the appropriateness of Dr Bawumia’s support for Comedy. As public figures and political actors continue to navigate this controversy, the narrative surrounding this episode remains contentious and unresolved.
