NDC Sets Guidelines for Tamale Central By-Election Primaries

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has released detailed guidelines for the forthcoming Tamale Central Constituency By-election Parliamentary Primaries in the Northern Region. Aspirants and party enthusiasts are instructed to take note of the following arrangements as outlined by the party.
Nomination forms are to be obtained from the Northern Regional Office of the NDC, with completed forms to be promptly submitted back to the same office. Furthermore, a certified copy of the delegates list will be provided to all aspirants post vetting.
To contest, aspirants are required to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of GHC 5,000 at the point of collection. Male candidates will need to pay a filing fee of GHC 40,000 (cash only) into the officially designated Party bank account. Female aspirants and individuals living with disabilities are eligible for a 50% reduction in the prescribed filing fee.
In a statement endorsed by the party’s General Secretary, Mr. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, it was announced that nominations will commence from Friday, August 22 to Sunday, August 24, 2025, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Filing of nominations will take place on Thursday, August 28, from 8:00 am till 5:00 pm. Vetting, balloting, and appeals are scheduled for Sunday, August 31st, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, leading up to the election day set for September 6, 2025.
Mr. Fifi Kwetey emphasized the importance of adhering strictly to the specified timelines, while highlighting that filing fees must be transferred to the UMB Bank account under the account name “National Democratic Congress,” account number 0101328345014, situated at the Adabraka branch.
The party reiterated its policy of not accepting cheques or bankers’ drafts, emphasizing that all payments must be conducted directly into the allocated account.
Prospective candidates and all stakeholders are urged to fully comply with these directives in order to ensure a smoothly conducted election process.
