The Paramount Chief and President of the Aflao Traditional Council, Torgbiga Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V, has paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of GoldBod, signaling a renewed commitment to strengthening Ghana’s gold sector through strategic collaboration.
The visit underscored the growing recognition of the vital role traditional authorities play in shaping the future of the country’s natural resource governance. Discussions during the engagement focused on fostering responsible mining practices, deepening community involvement, and supporting reforms aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability within the gold value chain.
The meeting also highlighted the need for improved traceability systems within the gold sector to curb illicit activities and promote ethical sourcing. Both parties acknowledged that sustainable value creation depends on cooperation between government agencies, private sector actors, and community leadership.
