Akwatia By-Election-If We Met Afenyo-Markin Here There Would’ve Been By-Election In Effutu-Azorka Loses His Cool

The First Vice-Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chief Sofo Azorka has issued a stern warning to the Minority Leader Alex Afenyo-Markin to his himself.

The former Northern Regional chairman of the NDC who is in the Akwatia constituency to observe the on-going by-election, has been captured in a video swearing they would have unalive the MP but for a simple reason that they did not meet face to face.

Azorka’s outburst, stems apparently from an earlier incident few hours after voting started.

The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) reportedly stormed the environs of the NDC’s constituency office at Akwatia and attempted to remove posters belonging to the NDC’s Bernard Bediako Baidoo.

Eyewitnesses mentioned in particular the Minority Leader and the General Secretary of the NPP Justin Frimpong Kodua as people who led the team.

The issue which occurred few hours after voting started on Tuesday nearly degenerated but for the presence of the police as they managed to disperse the party entourage.

One NDC sympathizer was picked up to calm the situation down. While this unfolded, the NDC leadership were nowhere to be found.

It was later that the vice chairman arrived when the horses had bolted and issued the threat.

“I am learning Afenyo-Markin was here, I swear to God if I had come to meet him here, there would have been a by-election in his constituency, I swear. We were at a different polling station, and we were informed that he was here. If we had met him there would have been a by-election at Afenyo-Markin’s hometown. We are ready for that, if you don’t respect the Police, we will do by-election in his constituency. He is lucky we met their absence.

Asked what he heard before rushing to the place he retorted “We were told they had attempted to remove our posters at our party office; this is a party office they are not allowed to come here. But when I came, they said they could not remove anything. That is why I rushed here if they did, we would have done by-election at his constituency. This is not Parliament, this is a free and fair field”. He advised the NDC members not to be intimidated but stand up to the opponent”, he angrily said.

Meanwhile, another video of Azorka threatening to beat up his counterpart in the NPP Alhaji Osman Masawudu has emerged. Azorka was reportedly unhappy that Masawudu had mentioned him while talking.

“Azorka has come to Akwatia but me Alhaji Masawudu from Tamale I said I won’t come so tell Azorka……”

The NDC vice chair who was standing right there did not allow him to complete his sentence before angrily stopping him.

Speaking in a local dialect mixed with English, the two were seen confronting each other even though the NPP chairman appeared friendly.

Azorka who looked fired up pushed the NPP national executive many times insulting and threatening to beat him if he dares him. The police quickly intervene.
