Alhaji Seidu Agongo gives GHS500,000 to MahamaCares Initiative

Alhaji Seidu Agongo, the Executive Chairman of Alive Industry Group, has given GHS500,000 to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, known as the Mahama Cares initiative.
This donation responds to former President John Dramani Mahama’s call for corporate support to address the rising issue of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in Ghana.
At the event, Agongo, who runs a dialysis center, highlighted the initiative’s importance for everyday Ghanaians.
He pointed out that each dialysis session costs about GHS700, and many patients need three sessions a week, making it unaffordable for those struggling to meet basic needs.
He felt compelled to contribute to the MahamaCares program, stating that a healthy society is essential for business success.
Alhaji thanked the Health Minister and praised President Mahama for this compassionate initiative, emphasizing that it aims to improve the wellbeing of all Ghanaians.
Launched on April 29, the MahamaCares initiative focuses on comprehensive care for NCD patients, addressing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.
With NCDs causing two out of four deaths in Ghana, the program aims to change this through collective efforts.
Agongo’s donation is one of the largest individual contributions to date, encouraging others to follow suit.
