A Nigerian man, name withheld, has been apprehended by the Ghana Police Service, after he kidnapped a Ghanaian young man, confined and held him in captive in his room for months.
He is alleged to have subjected his victim to severe beatings and abuse during the period of confinement.
According to reports, he was kept in his appointment for more than a month. His action was later uncovered and reported to the security agency, leading to his victim’s recue and subsequent arrest.
A video of the arrest showed the victim appearing very weak with bruises on his upper body. He was sighted sitting on the floor helplessly.

In handcuff, the Nigerian, fair in complexion, tried to fight off accusation that he has done something wrong. He defended his action saying “if you look at me do I look like someone who can do this? I was pushed.”
The officer who made the arrest was heard in the video demanding that the alleged kidnapper provides money for them to take his victim to the hospital.
Not sounding xenophobic, but this is not the first time nationals of Ghana’s distant neighbours are thronging the country and committing high crimes.
In recent past, a number of their youth have been caught in all manner of crimes including human trafficking, car snatching, prostitution, murder, and cybercrimes, among others.
