The World Bank has pushed back against claims that Ghana’s 2022 economic crisis was primarily triggered by external shocks such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia–Ukraine war. In its latest assessment in a report titled, Transforming Ghana in a Generation, the Bretton Woods institution said the deterioration in global conditions only “exposed an economy already beset with deep structural vulnerabilities and precarious macroeconomic conditions.” The position of the Bank challenges a narrative widely promoted by past government officials, who have consistently blamed the twin global shocks for the sharp depreciation of the cedi, soaring inflation, fiscal slippages and debt…

According to the counselor, the rising rate of divorce is largely due to the way modern society approaches marriage—not as a sacred covenant, but as a casual contract. “Divorce has become rampant these days simply because marriages are seen as contracts, which breeds betrayal amongst the different reasons we hear on a daily basis as to why divorce continues to spring at the least pinch,” he said. – Demands Permanent Seat, Billions in Reparations BY PRINCE AHENKORAH President John Dramani Mahama dropped a political atomic bomb on the global elite yesterday, launching a blistering, no-holds-barred call for a total ‘Reset’ of the United Nations and the entire post-war world order. Addressing the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, a visibly impassioned Mahama demanded immediate, structural reforms to confront historical injustices, a rigged global financial system, and the sheer audacity of colonial-era exclusion. His message was clear: Africa’s time is now, and its massive demographic and economic muscle can no longer be ignored—or silenced—in international governance. The…
