Drivers’ Wives Hail Mahama for Economic Stability and Marital Bliss
By Gifty Arthur
In a startling yet spirited endorsement of President John Dramani Mahama’s economic policies, the Commercial Drivers Wives Association of Ghana (CDWAG) has credited the government’s economic performance with reviving not just the transport sector but their sex lives.
According to the group, the stabilizing economy has brought peace to their homes and stamina to their bedrooms. “Our husbands are no longer coming home angry and exhausted. They are relaxed, happy and performing better in bed,” said Gifty Ayanrinka, Chairperson of CDWAG, in an interview on Rainbow Radio’s ‘Nyankonton Mu Nsem’.
The women say the days of frustration, financial strain, and bedroom drought are over. With fuel prices steady, spare parts more affordable, and the cedi holding its ground, their partners once battered by economic hardship are now thriving behind the wheel and under the sheets.
“In the past, the stress was unbearable. Our men came home broken, tired, and unable to satisfy us. But now, thanks to the NDC government, there’s joy in our homes again,” Ayanrinka declared.
The group’s testimony adds a human and intimate dimension to the broader economic narrative. While analysts debate inflation rates and fiscal policy, these women say the real proof of progress is in the renewed affection and energy of their spouses.
The praise doesn’t end in the bedroom. Commercial drivers have also lauded the Mahama administration for reviving the long-stalled Pokuase-Nsawam highway project.
The road, once a nightmare of gridlock and potholes, has seen rapid progress since the government cleared outstanding debts and re-engaged contractors.
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC), and other transport unions had previously threatened mass protests over the deteriorating road. But with construction now back on track, drivers say the government has proven responsive.
In a symbolic gesture of gratitude, drivers recently held a press conference at the project site, hailing President Mahama as a “listening leader.”
