The family of the late former First Lady, Her Excellency Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has revealed the funeral arrangements for her final rites, which are set to take place on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Independence Square in Accra.
In a heartfelt statement released on November 18, 2025, key figures, including Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and various representatives of the Agyeman and Agyeman-Rawlings families, expressed their profound gratitude for the overwhelming support and sympathy received since her passing.
Oheneba Akwasi Abayie, speaking on behalf of the grieving family, provided key details about the upcoming ceremony. He announced that the proceedings will commence at 6 a.m. with the arrival of the cortege at Independence Square, where mourners will gather to pay their final respects.
Attendees are advised to wear black attire, as no specific fabric has been designated for the occasion. The ceremony is open to the public, and all are encouraged to participate in this solemn farewell.
To ensure a respectful and orderly event, security and protocol officers will be present to guide attendees and manage seating arrangements. The family emphasized that the ceremony at Independence Square will serve as the final funeral rites, clarifying that no additional services will be held elsewhere after the burial.
In their statement, the family urged all attendees to arrive early and heed the instructions of security personnel to facilitate a smooth and dignified farewell for the beloved former First Lady.
