The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has strongly rejected claims from a recent Asaase Radio article that it has lost over GHC 3 billion in its first year of operation.
In a press release dated Sunday, November 17, 2025, the statutory body called the report “completely false” and “intentionally fabricated” to misrepresent the agency’s achievements and diminish its positive impact on Ghana’s economic recovery.
The Ghana Gold Board stated that its financial results since it began operations have been robust, consistently showing surpluses rather than the losses mentioned in the report. The Board noted that quarterly financial reports will soon be available on its official website, providing clear proof of its profitability and operational success.
GoldBod encouraged the public to ignore what it described as a misleading and unethical article and urged Asaase Radio’s management to retract the story and apologize to the people of Ghana.
The statement, issued by the Media Relations Unit of the Ghana Gold Board, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to transparency, accuracy, and accountability in all its activities.
