The Minister for the Interior, Hon. Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, has garnered significant acclaim for his exemplary performance during a Public Accounts Committee (PAC) meeting that took place earlier on Tuesday.
In a statement released after the session, the esteemed Islamic scholar and Director of the Leading-Edge Group, Dr. Abdul-Muhsin Baafi, commended the Minister for his “exceptional performance,” emphasizing his professionalism, transparency, and leadership in steering his sector through a phase of remarkable advancement.
Dr. Baafi noted that Hon. Muntaka, together with CEOs, Directors, and heads of agencies under the Interior Ministry, made a strong impression on the PAC with their initiatives in debt recovery and fiscal responsibility. The Committee reportedly expressed admiration for the Ministry’s dedication to protecting public funds, even suggesting that Hon. Muntaka’s leadership should be a model for other ministries.
“The Committee’s commendation of the Minister’s performance was clear, with repeated expressions of hope that he could serve as an example for other ministries. This reflects his leadership capabilities and his potential to effect meaningful change within his department,” Dr. Baafi remarked.
The scholar also expressed his appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for appointing Hon. Muntaka to the vital Interior portfolio, characterizing it as a “prudent decision” given the Minister’s history of excellence.
In overseeing key agencies such as the Ghana Police Service, Ghana Immigration Service, and the Ghana National Fire Service, Hon. Muntaka has been instrumental in enhancing national security, public safety, and institutional accountability.
“As the Minister continues to guide the Ministry of Interior, I am confident that he will persist in making substantial contributions to the promotion of national security, stability, and development,” Dr. Baafi concluded.
He wrapped up by reiterating his support for the Minister’s leadership and dedication to public service.
