The only son of the late former president, Jerry John Rawlings, is out of the bachelor’s market.
Kimathi Rawlings has departed from his father by settling down with his beautiful girlfriend who is white.
A very beautiful video of the wedding ceremony emerged online yesterday Monday July 8 with many expressing pleasant surprise and sending congratulatory messages.
Interestingly, many also wished that he married a Ghanaian considering the fact that they want him to veer into politics and succeed his father as president.
Some ladies who have been crushing on the handsome son of Rawlings who married a Ghanaian, have also expressed their disappointment.
They are displeased that; Kimathi did not find any of them worthy to be his wife. The New Republic captured some of the comments from Tiktok.
“Our single ladies are highly disappointed now, but love has no boundaries”, one Tiktok user with account name E-Closure said.
“Eeei my God my childhood crush oo. I’m married with kids but I’m still jealous. I wish him well in this journey. Congratulations my handsome Kimathi. God bless you and wifey”, one Stainless011 said on the same.
Another user with account name Mzcy said “Kimathi, this is how you want it? Is that how you are?
Akua JB said “Eeei Kimathi, so you did not blend a little you still married a white woman? You should not do that. Ms Forson on her part said “So you people it always whites people you want? We have heard you”.
It is unclear which country the ceremony was held but what was obvious in the video was that the ceremony was held outside of Ghana and his wife is pure white.
His three sisters Zenator, Amina and Yaa Asantewaa were present to give support to their only brother. Amina, according to social media commentaries stole the show after she was captured in the video beautifully dressed in blue gown and dancing to Kuami Eugene’s ‘Odo ye wo’ during the reception.
The video footage however did not show their mother Konadu Agyeman Rawlings.
Kimathi has been living a very private life, but he is known to be living most of his life outside of Ghana, even though occasionally, he visits, and he is seen at programmes with his mother and siblings.
The last time he was seen in public this year, was his recent visit to the national headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at Adabraka during the party’s anniversary in June with his sister.
His marriage follows years of speculation that he secretly married one of former President Akufo-Addo’s daughters. Even though no evidence was provided when the rumour was making the rounds, the claim lingered on until now.
The last time the former president’s daughter got married was in 2023, to the son of former Member of Parliament (MP) for Asokwa constituency, Maxwell Kofi Jumah.
