The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has urged Muslims to embrace the holy month of Ramadan as a time to encourage peace, unity, and national growth.
In a statement marking the start of this sacred time, the sector Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim, called on the Muslim community to let Ramadan enhance their dedication to integrity, mutual respect, and shared responsibility.
He referred to Ramadan as “a significant journey of faith, sacrifice, and renewal,” emphasizing that the practices of prayer, fasting, and charity not only strengthen one’s bond with Allah but also promote responsible citizenship and social harmony.
