The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, has lauded the Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo (Esq.) for being innovative in regulating the country’s downstream petroleum industry and ensuring reliable fuel supply.
The sector minister again commended the NPA Boss for cooperating effectively with him in the execution of industry-related work.
“Let us continue with the cooperation to serve Ghanaians,” he said.
Mr. Jinapor was addressing the management and staff of the NPA in Accra on Wednesday during a working visit of the Authority.

His visit formed part of a familiarization tour of energy sector agencies.
Mr. Jinapor noted that the NPA represented a critical value chain in the petroleum sector, stressing that “what you (the NPA) do affects the upstream.”
He affirmed the government’s commitment to empowering the NPA through law, policy, and human capacity development.
“We are determined to empower the NPA to stay ahead through law, policy, systems, and human capacity,” he said.
The Minister stressed the need for the Authority to be adaptive to serve the interests of consumers.
He said the number of DV vehicles was increasing in the country, hence the need for the NPA to align its operations to accommodate that development in the industry.

Mr. Jinapor urged the staff of the Authority to be more efficient in their work for the good of the industry.
In his welcome remarks, Mr. Tameklo said it had been 10 months of full cooperation from the dedicated Directors, Heads of Department and staff of the NPA.
“We carry out President Dramani Mahama’s vision for the industry and will make life better for the people”, he said.
Mr. Tamkelo said the NPA was enjoying full cooperation from the sector minister Mr. Jinapor.

“It is a learning curve working with the Minister with his rich experience having worked as a Deputy Minister of energy and Ranking Member on the Energy Committee of Parliament,” he said.
