Paul Adom-Otchere, the former Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Board, has initiated a lawsuit against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). He is contesting a directive that mandates him to declare his assets and income.
The lawsuit has been submitted to the High Court of Justice in Accra, under the case number.
As per the court filings, Adom-Otchere is requesting a judicial review, claiming that the directive issued by the Special Prosecutor on August 4, 2025, is illegal and represents an abuse of authority.
He is asking the court to annul the directive, arguing that it breaches the Office of the Special Prosecutor Act, 2017 (Act 959) and its related regulations.
The lawsuit further argues that the threats of legal action, property seizure, and detention that followed the directive amount to harassment and infringe upon Adom-Otchere’s basic human rights.
The former board chairman is seeking a court order to stop the OSP from detaining him or restricting his freedoms.
Alongside contesting the directive, Adom-Otchere is also claiming general damages and costs related to the litigation, including attorney fees. The legal arguments presented include claims of illegality, arbitrariness, unreasonableness, and unfairness by the Special Prosecutor.
The case is being managed by Dame & Partners, with lawyers Yaw Boampong and Adu Brempong representing him.
The issue is currently before the High Court, where a date for the hearing will be set to assess the legality of the Special Prosecutor’s directive.
