President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Cairo, Egypt ahead of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) programme,
The President will serve as guest of the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

He will attend the grand opening of the event which comes off tomorrow, Saturday November 1, 2025.
The event hosted under the patronage of President, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, will bring together world leaders, royals, and dignitaries from around the world.

The President left to Egypt after his visit to Paris, France, to participate in the 8th edition of the Paris Peace Forum.
The two-day event, which officially opened on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 was a high profile gathering that brings together government leaders, international organizations, civil society, experts, and businesses to discuss and foster new alliance to address conflicts, climate change, harness AL and technological advancement, and other global challenges.

This year’s event coincides with the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement to reinvigorate climate action ahead of COP30.
He is expected back in Ghana on Sunday, 2 November.
