President Mahama Loses UK-Based Brother!

President John Dramanu Mahama, has been hit with a terrible news with the passing away of his younger brother, Malik Dramani Mahama.

The unfortunate news occurred yesterday, Thursday July 17 after the deceased was reportedly seen online six (6) hours earlier. The president is yet to publicly comment on the sad development.

 Based in the Kingdom (UK), the death of Malik has hit many Ghanaians especially National Democratic Congress (NDC) and his friends online.

Many have expressed shock because to them, the deceased was online, commented on posts and engaged on Whatsapp groups few hours before the sad news.

Messages of condolences have begun trickling in from various places and individuals including former Minister for Information and Ambassador Sabah Zita Benson.

The former Minister, who appears to have disclosed the news first on Facebook and has a personal relationship with the deceased, expressed horror at the incident rhetorically asking “why”?    

The former Ambassador to the Czech Republic, revealed personal interaction they had before the news hit her.

“Eii Anyemi why? Why did you have to leave so soon? You promised to meet me at the airport with brazz band. You couldn’t wait? Anyemi” Rest well Makik Dramani Mahama”, she posted with a crying and broken hearts emojis.

While the president has refrained commenting, his niece Joyce Bawah Mogtari, has resisted the temptation to go mute.

Sharing the post of the former Minister, the Presidential Advisor describing him as “our cheerleader”.

“Rest un power uncle Malik! May Allah be pleased with your soul! Our cheerleader, may your soul rest in peace eternal”, she said.

Youth Organizer of the NDC UK-Ireland Chapter, Freddy AL, could not come to terms with the news of the passing of Malik.

Expressing his utter shock in two posts, he said “I don’t know what to say. I’m very sad my father Malik Dramani Mahama. Rest in peace.”

The last time the deceased was seen in Ghana was in December during the election. He was spotted public at a party organized for the NDC’s Diaspora Department headed by Alex Segbefia, to appreciate their contributions towards the party and it outstanding win during the December 7 general election.
