The root cause of Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, the 2024 parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Korle Klotey constituency, marital problems has been uncovered.
Reports suggest that, the wife of the young politician Gilda Adjoe Nortey, apparently asked for a divorce after she found out that there has been infidelity on the part of her husband.
He is alleged to have impregnated his Personal Assistant (PA) and flew her to the United States (US) to deliver This is what allegedly incensed her leading to her demand for a divorce.
“Nii Nortey has impregnated his PA. It was his Personal Assistant he impregnated that his wife got to know of that brought the anger. Unknown to her, he has brought the PA to deliver their child and gone back to Ghana. If you are a woman like Gilda won’t you be mad?” a tiktok report rhetorically has asked.
But Nii Noi, who has been eyeing the Korle Klotey seat since 2016, did not want to hear any of his wife’s demand hence the fight that led to the multiple stabbings.
His wife has been in the States with their five children for a while now. Three of the children were brought from previous relationship (s).
Other accounts also say, this is not the first marriage of Nii Noi. The 41-year old was once married to one Natasha but it is unclear if that marriage has been dissolved.
According to the Tiktok account ghfactsonline.com, this is also not the first time he is abusing a lady. The video reports states that, he has been unleashing violence on all the women he has been with.
In the particular case of Gilda, the video said while they were in Ghana, Nii Noi allegedly beat her to the point of breaking her leg. She was allegedly incapacitated for over six months.
“Who facilitated you travel abroad? Ask yourself. Nii Nortey is a wife beater. Every woman he has been with he has beaten her. He’s beaten all the women he has had kids with. Gilda is not the first persona, For her, he has beaten her and broken her leg and as a result she was crippled for six months. If you look at her well his violent attack on her has resulted in a mark on her face. This is the person that wanted to be MP at Korle Klotey?”
The video account indicated that anytime Nii Noi had issues with Gilda, it was one of the leading contenders of the NPP’s flagbearer race that intervened.
“Anytime he beat her up there was a presidential candidate that intervened on his behalf”, it added.
According to the Lower Paxton Township Police, the incident occurred around 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, along Mayfair Drive in Lower Paxton Township, Pennsylvania.
A report by abc27.com indicated that the stabbing was part of a domestic incident.
“The woman was taken to the hospital by first responders and is currently in stable condition,” police confirmed on Monday, adding that there was never any threat to the public.
Nortey based in Harrisburg, faces multiple charges, including attempted homicide, possessing an instrument of crime with intent to use, and tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, police said.
Online court records show that Nortey was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge David Judy, who denied him bail.
He is currently being held at Dauphin County Prison ahead of a preliminary hearing scheduled for January 26, 2026.,
