The committee tasked to probe the tragic helicopter crash that claim eight prominent Ghanaians on August 6, is ready to be presented.
The presentation ceremony to the National Secretary Council will be carried out today, Monday, November 10.
On Tuesday, details of the report will be made public at a media briefing, the Minister for Government Communications and spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has said.
The announcement by the minister, comes four clear months after the deceased were involved in a devastating helicopter accident at a forest near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region. The 8 were traveling to the mining town to launch an anti-galamsey initiative when the helicopter was involved in the accident. All on board were crashed to death.
Among the departed were the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Environment, Science and Technology and Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Mohammed Limuna.
Others were a vice chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Sarpong, a deputy boss of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) Samuel Aboagye and three solders.
That is not the only activity government will be embarking on this week. According to Kwakye Ofosu, President John Dramani Mahama will be launching his flagship poultry ‘Nkoko Nkitinkiti programme in Kumasi on Wednesday, November 12.
And last, on Thursday, the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, will present the 2026 budget statement in Parliament which the Minister for Government Communications says it contains “far-reaching policy initiatives.”
