Sad photographs have emerged from the Tamale Central constituency in the Northern Region, where workers are busily working despite the demise of the Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.
The MP, was expected to launch a hospital project on August 9, three clear days before his tragic death alongside 7 others including the Minister for Defense Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, on August 6 through a helicopter crash.
The project was a collaborative effort between the MP who until his demise was the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology and the Qatar Charity.
The sod-cutting ceremony for the Dagbang Dabi Fong Clinic says the launch was to be held at the Tamale Central Party Office on Saturday August 2025 at 9am.
A copy of the flier sighted by TheNewRepubliconline read “Hon. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, in collaboration with Qatar Charity, invites the general public to the sod-cutting ceremony for the construction of the Dagbang Dabi Fong Clinic”.
One week after his unexpected departure, the project has commenced with photographs of the workers on site.
A constituent Mutala Gomda Pisco posting the photographs said “Even after the demise of the honourable Member of Parliament for Tamale Central Constituency, comrade Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, work continues at dagbondabifong clinic project. Dr. Murtala’s Legacy continues one week after his unfortunate passing. May Jannatul ferdause be your final Home”.
Dr Murtala Mohammed and Dr Omane Boamah and six others including three Ghana Air Force officers died in a helicopter crash near Obuasi in the Ashanti Region where they had been sent to perform an official government assignment on responsible small scale mining.
