…Promises Golden Days Ahead

BY LEO NELSON

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region is buzzing with optimism! Their Chairman, Comrade Mawutor Agbavitor, is singing praises for President John Dramani Mahama, declaring that the President’s swift return to action spells nothing but good news for the region.

Agbavitor insists that Mahama is already tackling the Volta Region’s long-standing issues head-on, with recent moves signaling a bright future for development and the well-being of the people.

One of the big highlights earning Mahama serious commendation is the government’s rapid response to recent calamities.

We’re talking a whopping GH¢242.5 million unleashed to aid victims of the Akosombo Dam spillage, plus an additional GH¢200 million for communities ravaged by tidal waves, like those in Agavedzi, Amutsinu, Salakope, and Adina in the Ketu South Constituency.

Comrade Agbavitor didn’t mince words, calling these interventions “bold and compassionate.” He stressed that these actions are solid proof of Mahama’s dedication to keeping his campaign promises and swiftly addressing the urgent needs of those hit hardest.

But it’s not just about disaster relief; President Mahama has unveiled an ambitious development plan specifically for the Volta Region. During his “Thank You” tour in Ho, the President vowed to prioritize crucial infrastructure projects.

This includes finally seeing the Ho-Denu Road completed and breathing new life into the Ho Airport, with exciting plans to even set up a pilot training school there!

On the economic front, Mahama announced initiatives to supercharge agriculture.

He’s promising support for rice farmers and the establishment of cassava and ginger processing plants, all aimed at transforming the Volta Region into a powerhouse for agribusiness.

Addressing the hot topic of political representation, Comrade Agbavitor gave a firm assurance: the Volta Region will get its rightful share of appointments in the new NDC government.

He emphasized that President Mahama fully recognizes the region’s unwavering loyalty and significant contributions, confirming that qualified individuals from the Volta Region will absolutely be considered for key government positions.

The NDC Chairman radiated optimism about what lies ahead under Mahama’s leadership. He believes the President’s actions clearly show a governance approach that puts human development, economic strength, and social justice first.

Agbavitor urged residents to have unwavering confidence in the NDC administration’s commitment to progress and social welfare, promising that their concerns will always be heard and addressed.

As the NDC government, led by President Mahama, kicks off its development agenda, the Volta Region is bracing for major strides in infrastructure, economic empowerment, and social well-being. This will undoubtedly solidify the region’s long-standing and unyielding support for the party.
