The University of Ghana has wade into the recent public confrontations between tow of its senior academicians that is Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr. George Domfe leading to the trigger of an internal procedures to address the impasse.
On Friday, November 21, 2025, the university released a statement indicating that the actions of the two lecturers are currently being evaluated according to the University of Ghana Statutes (2024) and the Code of Conduct for Academic Senior Members (2011).
Management referred to a widely shared video that captured the two lecturers in a heated argument during a live broadcast on TV3’s Current Affairs Show, ‘The Key Points,’ on Saturday, November 15, 2025. What started as a panel discussion turned into a tense personal dispute.
The university clarified that it has initiated its internal processes to review the lecturers’ behavior and decide on suitable disciplinary actions.
“The University expects high levels of professionalism, integrity, and decorum from all faculty and staff, and anticipates that all members of the University community will uphold these principles in both public and private interactions,” the statement noted.
“Management is dedicated to maintaining the dignity of the University and ensuring public trust in the institution,” the statement concluded.
