The Accra Regional Police Command has taken two women into custody related to the alleged attack on a 12-year-old girl in the La Roman JHS area of Accra.
The incident happened on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, after the victim’s mother reported it to the police, bringing her daughter who had visible signs of assault. The mother claimed that her daughter was assaulted by three women without any reason.
After the report, the police recorded a formal statement from the mother and provided a Police Medical Report Form for the victim to undergo a medical check-up.
Initial investigations showed that earlier that day, the victim had a disagreement with a seven-year-old boy named Horm Giftan Mesopeh, who is related to the suspects.
According to the police, the suspects later visited the victim’s home, took her to their place, and allegedly attacked her.
On Wednesday, December 31, 2025, the mother guided the police to arrest two of the suspects, identified as Precious Giftan Mesopeh, 22, and Princess Giftan Mesopeh, 25.
A third suspect, Priscilla Novishie Wornyo, 49, a fashion designer and mother of the two arrested women, is reported to have gone to the Volta Region and is currently evading capture.
The two arrested suspects have been officially charged and are in police custody while assisting with the investigation.
They are expected to appear in court on Monday, January 5, 2025, as efforts continue to find and apprehend the third suspect.
The Accra Regional Police Command has warned the public against using violence, particularly in disputes involving children, and has urged parents and guardians to resolve issues legally and to always safeguard the rights and welfare of children.
