All is set for President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to mark the government’s one year anniversary in office today, Wednesday, January 7.
The commemoration will take a form of a non-denominational thanksgiving service at the forecourt of the Jubilee House, in Accra.
The event coincide with the day the president was sworn-in at a colourful ceremony at the Black Star Square, on January 7, 2025, where several dignitaries including presidents and envoys across the country were in attendance.
The service, scheduled for 8:00 a.m., will bring together religious leaders, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, and invited guests to reflect on the Mahama administration’s first year in power.
Held under the theme “Resetting. Rebuilding. Renewing.” the ceremony is aimed at expressing gratitude for the country’s stability over the past year while reaffirming the government’s pledge to national renewal and inclusive governance.
The thanksgiving forms part of activities marking President Mahama’s first anniversary in office of his second term and signals a moment of reflection, unity, and recommitment as the administration enters its second year.
Though short in office, the administration has been able to chalk a number of successes including the stabilization of the Cedi, reduction of inflation from 23 to single digit, fuel prices and so on.
