The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority, Lawyer Godwin Edudzi Tameklo , has asserted with unwavering conviction that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) boasts an array of formidable contenders capable of decisively vanquishing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2028 elections.
Speaking on Upside Down on Channel One TV on Sunday, April 26, Tameklo extolled the NDC’s depth of leadership, emphasizing that the party’s electoral fortunes transcend the singular stature of John Dramani Mahama.
He portrayed the NDC as strategically positioned, armed with credible and competent alternatives primed to confront Dr. Bawumia at the polls.
He spotlighted a constellation of distinguished figures, including Julius Debrah, Cassiel Ato Forson, National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, and current Vice President Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, among others, as paragons of competence and statesmanship with the requisite gravitas to steer the Republic.
“I am so happy, and I say this with so much pride, that today the NDC can produce all these great men who are fit to lead this Republic. Nothing excites me more than hearing the names you have mentioned,” he said.
Tameklo contended that the proliferation of potential standard-bearers is a testament to the party’s vitality and institutional strength, not a harbinger of discord. Rather, it fortifies the NDC’s posture ahead of the impending electoral contest.
“All the individuals you’ve named, any one of them can beat Dr Bawumia,” he added.
