On Monday, May 4, 2026, Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang delivered a stirring message of solidarity and encouragement to the more than 620,000 pupils commencing the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination across Ghana.
Speaking on behalf of the Government, the Vice President extended her heartfelt goodwill to candidates nationwide, imploring them to confront the examinations with unshakable confidence, unwavering honesty, and resolute determination.
She charged students to place their trust in years of diligent preparation and academic rigor, rather than succumb to anxiety or impropriety.
Throughout the examination period, which spans May 4 to May 11, 2026, she urged candidates to remain composed, focused, and steadfast in their pursuit of excellence.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang underscored the imperative of upholding the highest standards of academic integrity, cautioning unequivocally against examination malpractice.
She affirmed that the credibility of national qualifications rests on the ethical conduct of every candidate.
The Vice President also paid tribute to the tireless devotion of teachers, parents, and guardians whose guidance has shepherded students to this pivotal milestone. Their sacrifices, she noted, remain the bedrock of Ghana’s educational progress.
