The Ghana Police Service has warned content creators to avoid engaging in conduct that borders on criminality under the guise of content creation, as offenders will face arrest and the full force of the law if found guilty.
During a press briefing, DCOP Grace Ansah-Akrofi stated that the police service has observed with serious concern a growing trend where some individuals, claiming to create content, engage in acts that verge on criminality.
She mentioned that there have been instances where some have issued threats against security personnel, caused widespread fear and panic, and engaged in misinformation and disinformation.
She thus urges such individuals to reflect on their actions and desist from such conduct, as they will be arrested and prosecuted under the law.
The Police Service has also increased its online presence and patrols to prevent unscrupulous persons from exploiting digital spaces for criminal activities.
