The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has described the party’s electoral performance in the Central Region during the 2024 general elections as “unprecedented in history,” crediting the feat to the strategic and resolute leadership of Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu.
According to the National Chairman, the region recorded its highest-ever electoral victory under the chairmanship of Dr. Asiedu, now enstooled as Nana Asiedu Keteke, Nkosuohene of Agona Kwanyako in the Central Region.
“NDC recorded its highest ever electoral victory in the Central Region in 2024 under the able leadership of Richard Kofi Asiedu, now Nana Asiedu Keteke, Nkosuohene of Agona Kwanyako,” the National Chairman stressed.
Mr. Asiedu Nketia noted that the historic outcome was not accidental but the product of meticulous grassroots mobilization, disciplined party organization, and an unyielding commitment to reconnecting the party with its base across the region.
He argued that retaining Dr. Asiedu as Regional Chairman is imperative to consolidate these gains and to sustain the momentum heading into the next electoral cycle. His deep familiarity with the region’s political terrain, proven capacity for coalition-building, and unwavering loyalty to the party’s ideals position him as the most formidable custodian of the NDC’s renewed ascendancy in the Central Region.
“To abandon such proven leadership at this critical juncture would be to undermine the very foundation upon which our resurgence was built,” the National Chairman remarked, urging party stakeholders to prioritize continuity, competence, and results over transient considerations.
The 2024 outcome has repositioned the Central Region as a decisive stronghold for the NDC, with party officials attributing the turnaround to Dr. Asiedu’s hands-on approach, inclusive leadership style, and ability to harmonize diverse interests under a unified campaign machinery.
