The Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment is entering into a strategic partnership with Maphlix Trust Farms Ghana to promote youth participation in agriculture and agribusiness across the country.
The partnership, according to the Ministry, seeks to create sustainable employment opportunities for young people through skills training, access to modern farming techniques, agribusiness mentorship, and entrepreneurship support.

Speaking during an official engagement with management of Maphlix Trust Farms in Accra, the sector Minister, George Opare Addo described agriculture as a critical sector capable of addressing youth unemployment while strengthening national food security and economic growth.
He noted that many young people continue to view agriculture as unattractive due to outdated perceptions and lack of access to resources, adding that the collaboration with Maphlix Trust Farms would help reposition the sector as a profitable and innovative venture.

Maphlix Trust Farms Chief Executive Officer, Dr Felix Kamassah said the Trust remains committed to empowering the youth through practical interventions that promote self-reliance and economic inclusion.
Under the partnership, selected youth groups are expected to receive training in modern and mechanized farming methods, agritech innovation, agribusiness management, and value addition.

The programme will also facilitate access to start-up support, extension services, and market linkages to help beneficiaries establish viable agricultural enterprises.
Ministry officials expressed optimism that the initiative would contribute significantly to reducing unemployment among the youth while encouraging greater participation in the country’s agricultural transformation agenda.
