-Detained MP pleads alibi
-Invented Ghost Twin Brother to Escape FBI
-Seek Diplomatic Cover in Dutch Cells

The handcuffs clicked shut. The Ghanaian MP, armed with a diplomatic passport, thought he could talk his way out.
Instead, he invented a ghost.
This paper can confirm that Ghanaian authorities have dispatched a team to Asante Akim North to confirm whether Ohene Kwame Frimpong, the Ghanaian Member of Parliament currently in the grip of the Dutch law enforcers, is a twin.
Reliable sources close to the embassy in hague have disclosed to The New Republic that upon his arrest at Schiphol Airport early hours of Sunday May 10th 2026, Ohene Kwame Frimpong the embattled independent MP for Asante Akyem North immediately claimed that he was not the real culprit.
According to the sources, Frimpong told investigators that all the financial crimes the $32 million money laundering, the romance scams, the links to international fraud syndicates were committed by his twin sibling.
One problem: The twin brother does not exist.
Law enforcers in Ghana, working in close collaboration with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), quickly established that Frimpong has no twin. None. Zero. The alibi collapsed within hours.
Even more damning, close friends of the MP have revealed to The New Republic that Frimpong has been immersed in the world of online fraud for years long before he ever contested for Parliament.
“He has been in the fraud business for a very long time,” one confidant disclosed. “The romance scams, the money laundering, the fake identities this was his trade. Politics came later, as a cover.”
Another source added: “He thought becoming an MP would grant him immunity. He told friends that no one would dare touch a lawmaker. He was wrong.”
The 39-year-old lawmaker, who unseated legal luminary Andy Appiah Kubi in the fiery 2024 election, now sits in a Dutch cell. He is wanted by three nations:
UNITED STATES: The FBI has linked him to the infamous Isaac Kofi Oduro Boateng (aka “Kofi Boat”) romance scam ring that stole over $100 million from vulnerable Americans. Three gang members have already been extradited.
The remaining gang members include Inusah Ahmed a.k.a. “Pascal,” 40; Derrick Van Yeboah a.k.a. “Van,” 40; and Patrick Kwame Asare a.k.a. “Borgar,” 39. Frimpong is alleged to be a high‑ranking co‑conspirator.
· UNITED KINGDOM: Frimpong often travels to the UK, where his immediate family is based. Weeks ago, he allegedly battered his wife. She reported to the police, and he made a statement. The case was pending when he fled only to be caught in Amsterdam. Britain is now waiting to prosecute him for domestic violence.
· NETHERLANDS: The Dutch arrested him at Schiphol on behalf of US authorities. They are holding him pending extradition proceedings.
Ironically, Frimpong is genuinely connected to a pair of real twins Jamal Abubakari, popularly known as “Arrangement,” and Kamal Abubakari, known as “Lancaster.” The FBI arrested them upon arrival in the US, where they had reportedly gone to collect $2 million from their scam operations. Both are in custody, facing federal fraud charges.
But when it came to inventing his own twin, Frimpong’s lie was exposed within hours.
In August 2025, Frimpong went live on Facebook to defend himself:
“I am abroad representing my constituents and attracting investors to our area. Through my efforts, over 89 individuals have received scholarships.”
He denied cocaine possession, adding bizarrely: “I am very much alive because of the children and people I have helped. They spiritually intervene on my behalf.”
He declared: “I am making positive changes, and those who are trying to bring me down will not succeed.”
Today, those words echo in a Dutch detention cell.
Frimpong’s lawyers have rushed to invoke the Vienna Convention, arguing that their client travelled on a diplomatic passport and cannot be arrested.
Dutch authorities have rejected the claim. The US is said to be “impatiently waiting” to extradite him. The UK is also waiting to press charges over the wife assault.
In a statement shared on Parliament’s social media platforms, the august House confirmed the detention, adding that leadership is in touch with Ghana’s mission in The Hague. But behind closed doors, there is panic. An MP wanted by three countries, caught inventing a phantom twin has dragged the name of Ghana’s Parliament through the mud.
To his constituents in Asante Akyem Agogo, Frimpong popularly known as “OK” was a generous man. He sponsored blogger Amaro Shakur Turkey on a foreign trip.
He begged President John Mahama to buy rotting tomatoes from local farmers. Last week, on Mother’s Day, he shared pieces of cloth to his constituents.
But those who knew him behind the mask tell a different story: a seasoned fraudster who sought political power precisely to cover his illegal activities.
Law enforcers have long warned about this tactic. Now, they have their proof.
. The Netherlands holds Frimpong pending extradition.
· The US is expected to file formal extradition requests within days.
· The UK is preparing its own case on the domestic violence charge.
· Ghana’s Parliament watches as one of its own becomes an international fugitive caught, cuffed, and caught lying about a twin brother who never existed.
One question remains: How many other Ghanaian politicians are hiding the same secrets?
For Ohene Kwame Frimpong, the game is over. His diplomatic passport is worthless. His invented twin is dead. And his long career in fraud has finally caught up with him at Schiphol Airport, where the handcuffs don’t care about spiritual intervention.
