Third Vice Chairman of the New Periotic Party (NPP) Alhaji Osman Masawudu (Chairman Buga Buga), has been drawn to a marital row after marrying ex-wife of musician Fancy Gadam.
According to the politician, he is being accused of snatching Queen Meela but that is false because he never married a woman that is already married.
What happened, he explained in an interview is that, he found a divorcee and made her his second wife—-a woman who happened to have been once married to the artiste and they are blessed with a child.
He said even though social media is a washed with accusation that “I have snatched someone’s wife” he is unperturbed because that is not what happened. He described the accusation as “mischievous”.
He said when he met Queen Meela, she had already parted way with the ‘total cheat’ hit maker and made his move by making his intensions known to her parents.
He said when they met, he did not take her words that she was single but went straight to her father and he accepted him.
“I didn’t even have to ask her, when I met her and we talked I did not take what she told me hook line and sinker. I personally went to her parents and spoke to her father”, hesaid.
Chairman Buga who is contesting for the NPP First Vice Chairmanship position with three others, said the parents agreed and he informed his first wife who also agreed as Muslim tradition permits and followed it with the traditional marriage ceremony.
According to Chairman Buga, he never dated his now second wife and that he married her two months after he met her. But his accusers say if Chairman Buag says he married Queen Meela two months after meeting her, then it was just after her divorce and there is possibility that they were seeing before the divorce.
But he denied this assertion asking to know “if it is a crime for a divorced woman to marry again”. Buga said he does not see anything wrong with marrying ex-wife of Fancy Gadam, Northern Region based artiste who rose to become national figure after a number of hit songs. He in 2018 won the VGMA Popular Song of the Year with his hit song ‘total cheat’.
He added “It is just social media vibe I don’t know whether it is a crime when a woman is married and the marriage is no more and she is single it means nobody should approach this woman, the woman should remain like that?”
The controversial NPP bigwig described the accusation as “social media vibes” because “Fancy Gadam cannot say something like this because he knows that he was no more with the lady.”
Even though he was initially hesitant to speak to the issue, he obliged the radio host and promised to speak properly to the matter at the right time.
Asked if he regrets marrying the former wife of a public figure, he responded by saying “I have not regretted” and rebutted that, if Fancy Gadam is seen as a public figure, he is even more of a public figure than him.
