Information reaching us indicates that two Ghanaian women, Juliet Amponsah and Charity Eme, have reportedly been sentenced to prison in Iraq.
The two women are said to be from Asempaneye in Sefwi Wiawso, in the Western North Region.
Reports suggest they were arrested by Iraqi authorities along with several other nationals and have allegedly spent several months in prison under difficult conditions.

The exact offences that led to their incarceration have not yet been disclosed by Iraqi authorities or confirmed in any official documents.
Families and friends with relatives in Iraq are advised to check on their welfare.
