Fiery MP for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, fondly known as A Plus, has issued a heartfelt apology to the Attorney General, Dr. Domini Ayine, retracting all disparaging comments aimed at the esteemed Minister of Justice.
In a recent development on his official Facebook page dated May 3rd, A Plus attempted to clarify a stinging social media post supposedly directed at the AG, professing that the derogatory tweet was not his, but rather from an imposter account on the X platform.
The vehement MP strongly refuted the authenticity of the account bearing his name, emphasizing that the damaging accusations did not originate from him.
Nevertheless, he acknowledged and took responsibility for a subsequent post on his Facebook profile, where he had lashed out at Dr. Ayine with regrettable words. The post has since been retracted and an apology extended.
In the now-deleted post, A Plus brazenly labeled the Bolgatanga East MP as “I’ll reset your brain” and a “stupid man,” alleging an attempted bribe by his senior counterpart to sway the Appointments Committee of Parliament with a hefty GH₵500,000.
The post drew swift condemnation from social media users urging the musician-cum-politician to exhibit decency and civility in his interactions with fellow Parliament members.
Expressing contrition, A Plus humbly stated, “Regarding my own response on Facebook to the Attorney General’s comments at the press conference, I admit that I authored that particular post. Upon reflection, I acknowledge that the tone and choice of words I used were inappropriate.”
“As a Member of Parliament, a younger colleague, and a junior in the House, I sincerely apologize to Hon. Dr. Ayine and to the general public. I believe I could have made my point in a more respectful and constructive manner.”
The contentious remarks have been removed, signaling a genuine gesture of remorse from the embattled Member of Parliament.
