I’ve bought cars for my mother; not everything can be said on the internet – Shatta Wale to critics

Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, also known as Shatta Wale, has refuted allegations that he has neglected his biological mother.

Speaking on a live podcast on Saturday, May 24, 2025, the artiste dispelled the accusations disclosing that he has provided his mother with several cars and accommodations.

“That my mother you people have been talking about… I don’t think you people have bought cars for your mother before. I’ve bought cars for my mother; I’ve done things for my mother. It’s just that in this life, you win some and you lose some,” he stated.

Shatta Wale stated that although some have been quick to accuse him of neglecting his mother and bring up the subject in their arguments with him, he has always supported her and has opted to keep it off social media.

“The number of cars I’ve bought for my mother-it’s just that we didn’t show it on the internet, but those who know, know. The beautiful places I have gotten for my mother to rest her head-you people don’t know about them,” he stated.

Shatta Wale’s remarks follow recent social media teasing with content creator Kwadwo Sheldon, who turned down his offer of help after the latter’s home in Pantang flooded due to heavy rains.

Sheldon told the dancehall artist to direct his assistance toward his mother, whom he claimed has been neglected, while turning down Shatta Wale’s offer.
