We were optimistic of qualifying and we delivered- Hohoe United P.R.O.

Public Relations Officer of Hohoe United Football Club, Kenneth Asante, has revealed that the club were optimistic of qualifying to the Ghana Premier League after a close miss last season and is happy Hohoe United turned that optimism into reality this season.

He said this in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports after Hohoe United sealed qualification from the Access Bank Division One League Zone Three via a 3-1 win over Inter Allies at the Hohoe Stadium earlier on Sunday, May 25.

Hohoe United gained the license to operate in the Division from hitherto Ghana League side Liberty Professionals who changed their profile from a professional football team to an outright football academy two seasons ago.

“Last season, we tried but Vision FC was able to qualify ahead of us so we were very optimistic that this season we were going to get the slot and with the motivation, the focus and the direction of the club, we were able to achieve that fate” Kenneth Asante said.

In the Zone 2, Swedru All Blacks marked their return to the GPL after 16 years via a 3-0 win over New Edubiase United.

In the Zone One, a decider between Real Tamale United and Techiman Eleven Wonders will take place on Friday, May 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
