The four persons who died in a premix fuel explosion Friday morning at Kormantse have been buried. Their bodies were burnt beyond recognition, which compelled the families to hold a joint funeral service for them within a few hours after the incident. The Minority in Parliament is demanding the immediate withdrawal of the controversial AGM Petroleum Ghana Limited agreement which has seen the country’s stake in the oil contract reduced from 43% to a paltry 18%. The agreement was signed in 2013 but in 2018 attempt to review the contract was rejected by then Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, who then said it was not in the interest of government. Former president Jerry John Rawlings has started a campaign to raise funds to enable a retired police officer to undergo surgical operation. The retired officer, Chief Superintendent Ben Mensah needed money for a knee cap replacement surgery. He needed over ¢65,000 for the surgery.
