President John Dramani Mahama is in Libreville, Gabon, where he is participating in the maiden edition of the Libreville International Forum for Innovation and Development — a landmark convocation dedicated to accelerating technological advancement and economic expansion across Africa.
Convened by Gabon’s President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the high-level forum has assembled a distinguished cohort of African heads of state, global investors, and technology pioneers. Deliberations are centered on leveraging stable governance, robust business ecosystems, and artificial intelligence as catalysts for sustainable continental development.
According to Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Spokesperson to President Mahama and Minister for Government Communications, the forum also commemorates the official inauguration of the Omar Bongo Ondimba Congress Centre , a state-of-the-art facility poised to position Central Africa as a premier hub for international conferences and innovation.
In a statement issued from Jubilee House, Accra, President Mahama’s presence underscores Ghana’s strategic commitment to forging partnerships that catalyze digital growth and spur job creation. He is expected to advocate for stronger synergies between governments and the private sector to unlock inclusive economic opportunities.
The forum will culminate in the adoption of the Libreville Declaration, a framework designed to entrench good governance, enhance transparency, and accelerate digital transformation across the continent. Organizers assert that the event signals Gabon’s ambition to emerge as a pivotal destination for innovation and investment.
