The internet is engulfed with outrage and shock following that, a young man, Theophilus Ashitey Amarh who was declared missing has been gruesomely killed and burnt by his friend Wisdom Tetteh, at a bush near the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).

The deceased, based in Oyebi in Accra, according to earlier reports had advertised on the internet the sale of a vehicle. He was subsequently contacted by a potential buyer, to come over so they transact business in early April.
He was accompanied by his friend Tetteh but after the meeting, nothing was heard about him again.
Ashitey was then declared missing but no news was heard about him. Tetteh then became a person of interest in the investigation.
But yesterday, the fear of many was confirmed that Ashitey has apparently been murdered by his friend Tetteh and his body burnt.

Police investigations led to the arrest of Tetteh, who is said to have confessed to unaliving of Ashitey. He had absconded after committing the crime.
A source and student, who is familiar with the case confirming the news of Ashitey’s death sent this to a lecturer “Hello good after, with heavy heart I would like to inform everyone that Theo has passed away. Wisdom has been brought to Ghana and confessed he killed Theo on 7th and burnt his body in a different car in a bush at UG”.

The suspect is reported to have narrated the chronology of event.
“According to Wisdom’s own confession, he killed Theo on Monday. He said he kept hitting Theo’s head until Theo became unconscious and weak. Even after that, when he first left the house, Theo was still alive but badly injured. Wisdom than drove Theo’s car out and later returned home. By the time he came, Theo was no longer breathing… he was stiff and cold… he was lifeless. Instead of seeking help, he placed Theo’s dead body in the back seat of the car like a passenger and drove around with him. He went to park at Mensah-Sarbah in Legon just to waste time and avoid suspicion. Later on 7th April 2026, around midnight, he drove to GIMPA road, where he tied Theo up and set both Theo’s body and the car on fire. This is the painful and heartbreaking way Wisdom ended.”

Police have identified the spot where the heinous crime was committed and the brunt vehicle retrieved as evidence.
